The Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) in collaboration with the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART) announce the launch of a joint postdoctoral Fellowship Programme.

This competitive and prestigious programme is aimed at attracting the best and most talented post-doctoral students from Singapore, the region, and beyond. Programme participants, through the course of the two-year appointment, will carry out inter-disciplinary research on critical problems of societal significance through the SUTD-MIT International Design Centre (IDC) and SMART, under the joint supervision of SUTD and MIT faculty. They will also have the opportunity to contribute to the teaching at SUTD.

The Fellowship term is for 2 years, with recipients being employed under SMART for the first year and under SUTD for the second year. The awards provide a competitive salary, a research grant of up to S$40,000 and a travel allowance of up to S$5,000.

The awards are open to all applicants regardless of nationality. Applicants who have completed one year of post-doctoral training at either SUTD or SMART are NOT eligible under this programme. The area of post-doctoral research must be related to one (or more) of the 5 Inter-disciplinary Research Groups (IRGs) at the SMART Centre (http://smart.mit.edu/fellowships/smart-scholars/application-requirements.html) and one or more of the Grand Challenges (GC) and Design Research Thrusts (DRTs) of the IDC (https://idc.sutd.edu.sg/about/facts/).
